Then…a good friend/fellow endurance athlete shared this video with me today about the Barkley 100, “The World’s Toughest Race”. Β This is one of the most moving, and inspirational things I’ve seen in a long time! The mental strength and the quotes of these runners are pretty amazing!

My favorite quote from this, “You haven’t tested your limit until you try something you can’t do. Then you know where your limit is. It’s right there where I quit. That was it.” That quote reflects my feelings and reasons for loving marathons. Β It is going to be my personal mantra for my next round of marathon training! (Starting in one month!! Eeeekkkk! So excited!)

And to cap off the daily randomness, here is my weekly run-down!

  1. Awesome songs! You know, I don’t have a booty song…but I’m thinkin…’ I SHOULD get one real soon! Great idea! πŸ˜‰ Also, did you decide on a marathon, huh huh? πŸ™‚ Hehe!! How exciting, a month till you start your training. That’s very cool! Very happy for ya!! You’re going to rock your race! Yep, YOU are!!
Love inspirational quotes!! Always so motivating for me. My motto/fave quote is:
“In the midst of winter, I found there was within me an invincible summer.” Albert Camus
(This quote seriously gives me chills…I always think about it, when I’m not feeling the best.)
    Have a beautiful day!!! xoxoxo

    • I’m on the fence between Shamrock and Quintiles Marathon at Wrights Beach (Race you told me about!). Both courses are flat and they are on the same day, so it gives me a little time to weigh pros/cons and decide. πŸ™‚ And thanks! I love inspirational quotes too! I love yours! That is such a great quote, that could inspire me in so many ways! You have a beautiful day too!

      • Awesome!! I’m sure both races will be super!! YES, I love that quote- it gives me chills!! πŸ™‚ So inspirational!! Have a Happy Thursday!! xoxo

  2. bahahaha booty sounds that’s hilarious lol!!! Florida is known for booty music. On my playlist right now … “Remember the Name” – Fort Minor, “Burn” – Ellie Goulding, “Dark Horse” Katy Perry featuring Juicy J to name a few. πŸ™‚

    • I thought so too…and it was fun going back and listening to some of these songs that I haven’t heard in ages! There are a few of these songs that I hate to love! I actually questioned including a few on my list because I didn’t want to show what I big dork I can be sometimes! πŸ˜‰

  3. I actually don’t listen to music when running. it’s been years since I did that, mainly because I don’t have the time to update my IPod. If I’m running on the treadmill at home, I always watch a show on my tablet …. gotta entertain myself somehow πŸ™‚

    • I don’t listen to music at all when I run outside. At first it was for safety (to hear cars and people around me) and so i would have one less thing to fuss with on my runs…but ive learned to really enjoy it now…it makes me feel more present, unplugged, and tree huggy! πŸ˜‰ i do listen to music when I’m on my treadmill (most of the time just pandora) or when I’m doing other workouts like my kettlebells at the house.
